Here’s something that will tickle your marketing funny bone: An all-in-one business search tool that allows companies to claim and edit their profiles, respond to queries, and connect with other suppliers. The guys doing this, in America at least, are team Zubican. They are currently out with a beta, by invitation only, but boast a comprehensive list of practically every business in the United States.
This is like an open-source דפי זהב, where businesses can come in and take control of their own listings, and whether you are a buyer, a middle man, or supplier, you’ll find what you’re looking for. Well, at least that’s the idea.
Profiles list data such as how long you’ve been in business, gross income, supply capabilities, location, number of employees, the list goes on. The point though, is community. In order for online business to flow, the businesses themselves need the online control to take advantage of the potential market. Otherwise, you leave it up to an application for דפי זהב, and you might not like what they say about your business. They may even get something wrong or completely out of date, which happens sometimes, or all the time really.
